SG Digital appoints former Playtech exec as CFO
Playtech’s former UK finance director Alexander Ambrose will be based in SG Digital’s London office

Scientific Games (SG) has appointed former Playtech finance director Alexander Ambrose as the new chief financial officer (CFO) of SG Digital.
Ambrose previously worked as a finance director for Ash Gaming before the start-up was acquired by Playtech in 2011.
He then spent five years at Playtech, overseeing the integration of Ash Gaming before being promoted to run the software giant’s UK finance function, while assisting with M&A strategy.
In his new role, Ambrose will work from SG Digital’s London office under SG’s executive vice-president and CFO Michael Quartieri.
Quartieri said of the appointment: “We are thrilled to have Alex join SG Digital and our global finance team.
“His in-depth financial experience in egaming will enable him to drive operational excellence, execute best practices and position us for growth in our egaming and sportsbook businesses.”
SG Digital COO Jason Walbridge added: “Alex is the perfect addition to our team as we level up our product portfolio and continue the rapid transformation of our sportsbook business to meet the needs of our growing US customer base.
“As a finance leader with strong industry expertise, Alex has extensive experience leading finance teams in a multi-product environment.
“We’re glad to have him on board during this transformational time.”
The appointment is the latest of several personnel moves in recent months for SG Digital, with the provider last month hiring Stuart Weston to run a new sportsbook team in Gibraltar.
