Sportech US digital president departs

Rich Roberts to leave at end of August following changes to Sportech/Draft Day relationship
Sportechâs president of US digital operations, Rich Roberts, announced his resignation this morning after two years in the position.
Roberts will remain at Sportech until the end of August to âensure a successful transitionâ to the reshuffled management team.
Ted Taylor, the managing director of Sportech Venues in Connecticut, will assume responsibility for the online (ADW) horseracing business in the state.
The announcement comes after a reorganisation of management responsibilities in Sportech’s North American activities following its withdrawal from its Draft Day daily fantasy sports business obligations.
Sportech owns a 35% stake in daily fantasy platform DraftDay and had a contract to provide management services to the platform which is now set to expire, according to Mickey Kalifa, Sportech CFO.
The provision of management services to Draft Day was one of Robertsâ main responsibilities alongside the running of the ADW business in Connecticut.
Roberts said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Sportech and am proud of the success we have had during that period with some key digital initiatives.”
Sportech chief executive Ian Penrose added: “Rich has been an important member of the executive team, most notably during our successful digital activities in New Jersey last year. I would like to personally thank him for his contribution to the company, and we wish him well for the future.”
Roberts joined Sportech in July 2014 after three years as CEO of Slingo.
