William Hill to open drive-thru sportsbook in Nevada
Initiative will allow new customers to register in person while maintaining social distancing

William Hill will open a first-of-its-kind drive-thru sportsbook in Nevada this weekend to enable new bettors to register and deposit into their accounts while maintaining Covid-19 social distancing measures.
New customers can download the app in advance to carry out initial KYC checks and then have their identities verified by staff at one of four drive-thru locations.
The locations will be set up in casino parking lots in both Las Vegas and Reno in Nevada.
When Nevada’s casino industry shut down in March, sportsbooks shifted to online-only and could not take on new customers, while they were limited to paying out winnings via physical checks sent to players.
The initiative supports a new Hills promotion around this weekend’s UFC fights. It has launched a ‘Watch the Fights on Us’ campaign offering customers a $65 bonus to cover the cost of Saturday’s pay-per-view event.
William Hill US CEO Joe Asher said: “Ahead of one of the largest sporting events of the month, we wanted a safe way to meet the current demand from our customers.
“It sure is nice to have some American sports to bet on,” Asher added.
Hills was among the few sportsbooks that maintained its online offering during the initial stages of the Las Vegas lockdown.
It continued to offer markets on niche foreign sports and said it would work around the issue of cashing out by sending checks.
