Double Down adds Texas Hold'Em poker to casino suite
Game is second poker variant on IGT-owned social platform after Omaha Poker.

Double Down Interactive, the IGT-owned social casino, has added a second poker game to its Facebook casino.
Texas Hold’Em Poker joins Omaha Poker on Double Down Casino, which currently attracts 5.3million monthly active users according to AppData.
The free-to-play game features player tutorials, hand-ranking tools and varying game speeds, with the intention of attracting players with little or no poker experience as well as those who have played the game before.
Double Down Interactive founder and vice president Greg Enell described the launch as “A huge step forward for us and the poker community on Facebook.”
The developer has been under the IGT umbrella since January, when the gaming machines provider agreed to purchase the start-up for up to US$500m. IGT’s recent first-quarter results revealed that Double Down was providing it with “Accelerated revenue growth”.
Currently the most popular poker game on Facebook is Zynga Poker with 35.1m monthly active users, while other gambling apps on the social network – which this week introduced its own app store – include Playtika’s Slotomania which has 7.6m MAUs.
Another app with a seven-figure MAU total is Slots Farm, set up by CTXM and the subject of a licensing deal with Playtech announced earlier this month.
Double Down has continued introducing new Facebook slots since being bought by IGT, with one of the most recent being a slot themed around the American Idol television show, on which development began before January’s acquisition.
Robert Melendres, IGT executive vice president of emerging businesses, said: “”In the coming year, we will be introducing many popular IGT titles to Double Down Casino to provide our social players with engaging slot play.”
