FanDuel makes international debut with UK launch
DFS firm expands beyond the North American market with its new one-day fantasy football product on web and mobile

Daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator FanDuel has expanded its presence beyond the North American market for the first time with the launch of a new UK product.
The firm’s one-day fantasy football platform was debuted in the UK yesterday on both web and mobile in time for the start of the new season, and will initially be focused on the English Premier League.
And as revealed by eGaming Review in May, the product was built by the same UK-based team that developed its US-facing platform, and features single day or weekend contests, instant scoring updates and Opta-powered stats.
FanDuel CEO and co-founder, Nigel Eccles, described the international launch as a “proud moment” for the DFS operator following its North American debut in 2009.
“Until now, FanDuel’s product has been exclusive to the US and Canada, we’re delighted to be able to offer contests back on our home turf in the UK, where we first started the business and continue to base our engineering operations,” Eccles said.
“Our company has spent the past 12 months creating a product for UK football fans, designed to resonate with them and their love of the game.
“Every feature considers this, from the formation of fantasy teams, to the pricing of players in £s to our unique and detailed scoring system, which realistically reflects the play of all those who are on the pitch.”
News of the launch comes after FanDuel unveiled a complete company rebrand and a revamped website earlier this week ahead of the new NFL season.
