Gamesys pulls real-money Facebook app
London-based operator informs players that Bingo & Slots Friendzy will no longer be available on the social network

Facebook’s first real-money gambling app Bingo & Slots Friendzy has been withdrawn by Gamesys after almost two years on the social network, eGaming Review has learned.
According to an email sent to account holders by the app’s customer support team, players had until midnight Wednesday until players would “sadly wave goodbye” to the app which has since been taken down.
The email also said players would still be able to withdraw funds before the deadline and prompted them to use the same login details to use Gamesys’ real-money Jackpotjoy bingo site.
Gamesys was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.
Bingo Friendzy was released in the UK in August 2012 and was the first real-money game to debut on the social network, while 888 later followed suit in December 2012 with Bingo Appy.
Since the launch of Bingo Friendzy a number of real-money apps have been released including Paddy Power Social, Bonza Slots, Bonza Casino, Magic888 Casino and Zynga Plus Poker.
However, scepticism remains as to the viability of RMG on the social media site and a recent poll by eGR found that 71% of readers believe it is set fail for the foreseeable future.
Earlier this year Gamesys launched a freemium version of its most recent social casino venture Virgin Poker product on Facebook following its acquisition of the Virgin Gaming brand last year.
