Jumio launches facial detection technology
Face Match added to payment solution provider's Netverify platform

Jumio has announced the launch of its facial detection technology to boost the anti-fraud capabilities of its real-time customer verification offering.
Face Match is available within the mobile payment firm’s Netverify identity verification platform and enables customers to match an ID photo used during a mobile or online transaction with the customer’s actual face.
Founder and CEO of Jumio Daniel Mattes said the new technology will provide another layer of safety for Netverify customers in their battle to combat fraud.
“We can now not only deterÂmine that the actual idenÂtiÂfiÂcaÂtion is in-hand and valid, but that the person holding the card is the same person as in the picÂture,” he said. This renÂders “personnot-present” transÂacÂtions to be effecÂtively as secure, or more so, than a traÂdiÂtional ‘person present’ transÂacÂtion.”
Face Match is designed to detect fraudulent transactions and can be activated to use for all transactions or just those deemed as high-risk.
In July online casino operator Mr Green partnered with Jumio to incorporate its Netverify product. Jumio also recently signed a similar deal with Isle of Man XP Capital, which saw the binary trading firm incorporateg Jumio’s customer identification solution into its iOS app.
