Bwin.party and Danske Licens Spil launch in Denmark
Launch covers poker and casino games, while sports betting platform remains up for tender.

Bwin.party has gone live in Denmark with casino and poker offerings for Danske Spil subsidiary Danske Licens Spil following the signing of an initial deal two years ago.
The news comes less than three weeks after Danske Spil became one of 38 operators to receive a Danish egaming licence, ahead of the market opening at the start of this month.
eGaming Review revealed in October that the operator had opened a tender for a sports betting platform, however as of today no provider has been announced.
Its regulated markets subsidiary Danske Licens Spil “ set up in December 2010 in preparation for the opening of the Danish egaming market “ is headed up by Jens Aaløse and is one of three arms of the 80% state-owned operator.
Aaløse said of the partnership: “With some of the world’s leading products in online poker and casino as well as a large international customer base, bwin.party was the obvious choice for DLS.”
Bwin.party co-CEOs Jim Ryan and Norbert Teufelberger said in a statement today: “Building on our recent announcement regarding deals with both MGM and Boyd in the US market, this is another important milestone in the execution of our stated strategy that is focused on securing leadership positions in regulated and to-be-regulated markets.”
In early 2010 PartyGaming signed a five-year B2B deal to provide the Danish state lottery with online poker and casino games in Denmark.
