Operator prepares for launch in New Jersey and Nevada with geolocation integration
Bwin.party has selected GeoComply to provide it with geolocation services in the US market.
The London-listed operator has applied for a service provider licence in Nevada, though CEO Norbert Teufelberger admitted earlier this year the firm has “chosen not to operate” in the Silver State. It is, however, likely to launch in New Jersey before the end of the year after entering into agreements with Boyd Gaming and MGM in October 2011.
Under regulations in both jurisdictions, only players physically present within the state’s borders are permitted to place bets, meaning each online operator must accurately identify the location of the customer. GeoComply’s technology will be integrated into bwin.party’s offering across both PC and mobile devices in the US.
“We are thrilled to have won this tender and to be now working with bwin.party in such an exciting new market,” Anna Sainsbury, CEO of GeoComply USA, said. “As a specialist company focused on the egaming space, we are very much looking forward to assisting bwin.party in delivering to the gold standard of egaming compliance in geolocation technologies.”
GeoComply was recently awarded a Nevada license and has applied to be a licensed supplier in New Jersey.
