Marathonbet strikes Liverpool FC sponsorship deal
Operator named Premier League club's regional betting partner as part of a new three-year deal

Online sportsbook Marathonbet today announced a three-year deal with Premier League football club Liverpool FC to become the club’s new regional betting partner.
The sponsorship agreement sees the operator provide in-stadium branding and exposure to Liverpool’s digital platforms for the start of the 2015-16 football season. The deal stretches to all markets bar Asia, Australia, Brazil, Finland, Sweden and Norway.
The announcement comes after last month eGaming Review revealed Marathonbet was in discussions with a number of high-profile Barclays Premier League team’s including Liverpool and Manchester United.
Marathonbet’s head of sponsorship Shaun Simmonds said the deal signified an important “milestone” in the company’s history.
“Liverpool Football Club is one of the most famous sporting organisations in the world, and we’re extremely confident that this partnership will help Marathonbet become an increasingly recognised brand on a global level,” Simmonds said.
“We couldn’t be more excited to connect much further with the Liverpool fans, who are among the most passionate and engaged fans in the world of sport,” he added.
Marathonbet has previously held betting partnerships with various English football teams such as Fulham and West Ham United, which also included title sponsorship of an annual pre-season match known as The Marathonbet Cup.
In June the operator also launched its new Advancebets feature enabling customers to use potential winnings from outstanding wagers to place new bets but not be liable for the stake if the bet is settled as a loser.
