Mybet exits continue as CEO Dahms stands down
Mathias Dahms to leave after 15 years with the company, CFO Monika Fiala to act as stand-in
Mybet CEO and co-founder Mathias Dahms is to leave the company at the end of the year enforcing yet another boardroom change at the Schleswig-Holstein-based operator.
Dahms leaves mybet for “personal reasons” just months after the departures of supervisory board member Rodolfo Carpintier Santana and CFO Stefan Hänel. Monika Fiala, who was appointed as the company’s interim CFO last week, will assume Dahm’s duties on an initial basis.
In addition, supervisory board member Antje Stoltenberg is also set to stand down from her seat after more than 15 years, citing health reasons.
Dahms co-founded mybet in 1998 and initially held the roles of finance director and CTO/COO before becoming management board spokesman in 2010.
“After a long and exciting time at mybet I am now relishing the prospect of fresh challenges,” Dahms said.
“We are exceptionally endebted to Mr Dahms for his successful contribution to the mybet group over many years and are pleased we will be able to draw on his expertise as a consultant for a transitional period,” Volker Heeg, supervisory board chairman at mybet, said.
Mybet was forced to revise its earnings forecast last week after it posted a loss for the second consecutive quarter, blaming unstable margins and the Spanish economy for the poor performance.
The operator does however remain optimistic of returning to growth in the coming year with a number of projects designed to drive revenue, such as a new mobile app, nearing completion.
