Agreement will help football's governing body investigate irregular betting pattern.
Egaming operator mybet and FIFA subsidiary Early Warning System (EWS) have announced a partnership designed to help protect the integrity of football.
The agreement will help FIFA, the international governing body of football, investigate betting patterns or suspected insider activity in sports betting, which can be an indicator for match-fixing on FIFA-related events.
The cooperation agreement between mybet and EWS includes the exchange of betting relevant information to support the analysis and review of odds-movements with regard to FIFA organized competitions. In April the Maltese Lotteries and Gaming Authority entered into a similar deal with FIFA.
Mybet, formerly known as JAXX SE, was one of the first operators to receive an egaming licence in the German territory of Schleswig-Holstein, and was also among the first wave of Spanish licensees. Mathias Dahms, a spokesman for the company, sits on the Schleswig-Holstein egaming advisory board.
The operator was recently named as the sponsor of German football club SpVgg Greuther Fürth, which will play in the country’s top division “ the Bundesliga “ next season.
EWS was founded by FIFA in 2005 with the aim to safeguard the integrity of football through prevention and early detection, and includes partnerships with over 400 national and international sport betting organisations as well as with state authorities.
