Nektan makes ex-bwin.party and Betfair management hires

Mobile games developer Netkan has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Dominic Le Garsmeur and Simon Teppett, formerly of bwin.party and Betfair respectively.
Le Garsmeur takes on the role of product director, a position left vacant by the relocation of Richard Sagman to set up Nektan’s US operation.
He joins from bwin.party where he was responsible for overseeing the product management teams of PartyGaming’s casino, bingo and sportsbook products.
Le Garsmeur joined Party in 2006 and in 2009 set up a games studio responsible for creating new game content for the PartyGaming group.
Meanwhile Teppett, who spent five years as head of mobile and TV technology at Betfair, takes over as Nektan’s CTO.
He left the betting exchange and sportsbook operator in September last year after five-and-a-half years’ service.
Geoff Read, CEO of Nektan said both Teppett and Le Garsmeur would play an integral part in Nektan’s plans to roll out our mobile real-money and freemium products.
“Attracting industry executives of this calibre to Nektan really shows our intent as we look to disrupt the established casino and bingo industry verticals,” he said.
“My focus will be on continuing to create innovative and fun content, optimised for mobile and tablet devices, that our clients both existing and new really need,” Le Garsmeur added.
The expansion of the senior management team comes after last year’s acquisition of mobile gaming firm MFuse for an undisclosed sum shortly after completing a £5m ($8.2m) funding round.
This was followed by the appointment of ex-Probability COO Matt Sunderland who joined Nektan as chief operating office last June.
