Paddy Power's head of live casino leaves for Sky Bet
Tom Murgatroyd joined Sky on Wednesday to head-up the Leeds-based company's new Sky Casino brand

Sky Betting and Gaming has appointed Paddy Power’s former live casino head Tom Murgatroyd to lead its new Sky Casino brand, eGaming Review can reveal.
Murgatroyd left Paddy Power earlier this year and has since been on gardening leave before taking up his new role at Sky on Wednesday.
During his time at Paddy Power he was responsible for launching and growing revenues from new casino propositions with partners including Evolution Gaming and Playtech.
He originally joined the Irish operator in March 2009 as online casino product manager, having previously worked as programme manager for General Electric, and in September 2010 was named as Paddy Power’s new head of live casino.
In his new role Murgatroyd will be responsible for leading the Alderney-licensed operator’s Playtech-powered casino which launched in August and features the software supplier’s roulette, table, slots and card games, as well as its live dealer offering.
Sky Casino sits alongside the Leeds-based firm’s long-standing Sky Vegas product led by Samuel Downey who was been head of the brand since November 2012.
The news follows Sky Betting and Gaming’s recent announcement that it was exploring the possibility of developing a B2B model for its revamped poker product after the vertical recorded revenue growth of 24% year-on-year.
