PokerStars "weeks away" from France mobile app
Launch follows releases in Italy and the UK in January and February this year.

PokerStars is just “weeks away” from launching a mobile poker application for the iPhone and iPad in France, a source close to the matter has told eGaming Review.
Following its launch in Italy and the UK the world’s largest poker site has now set its sights on launching an app in France and is currently awaiting approval from Apple before going live.
Stars released Apple and Android apps for the Italian and UK markets in January and February respectively.
The UK app, however, does not currently allow players to create a new account, nor does it have a cashier function, meaning players must register and deposit online before using PokerStars Mobile. A fully integrated app, including the addition of these two features, will be released later this year.
Zoom, the operator’s fast-paced poker game, went live on the Isle of Man-based operator’s test site at the end of last month and is currently undergoing beta testing with a launch due later this year.
Any player holding an account with the operator can try out the game for play-money ahead of the planned launch of a real-money version, possibly as soon as next month.
A message from PokerStars’ support team confirmed it is developing a “fast moving ring games product” and that it was available for public beta testing.
The variant features a “fast fold” option, much like Full Tilt’s ‘Rush Poker’ game, allowing players to play more hands over any given time period. The game is currently only available to test in a ring game format, and it is unclear whether or not the initial launch will feature sit ‘n’ goes or tournaments.
