Bingo added to DoubleDown Casino
Newly launched bingo game allows players to compete against friends.
IGT-owned Double Down Interactive has added a freeplay bingo game to its Facebook casino application.
The DoubleDown Casino app is already one of the most popular on the social networking site, with 5.2m monthly active users (MAU) playing casino-style games and online versions of IGT’s slots such as Cleopatra and Da Vinci Diamonds.
The new bingo game features several social elements, allowing players to compete against friends and try and beat their personal best scores.
Robert Melendres, IGT executive vice president of emerging businesses, said of the launch: “This is an entirely unique bingo experience. Players will be able to select customised playing cards daubers, and themed rooms. And unlike other social bingo sites, every game is unlocked.
“Whether you’re an experienced bingo player or new to the game, you’ll find the ticket to fun right here where bingo joins an entire suite of social play already available at the DoubleDown Casino.”
The launch comes just weeks after Facebook teamed up with game developer Gamesys to launch the first real-money bingo games for UK customers on the social network. Bingo Friendzy “ which is restricted to players over 18 “ has been launched using Gamesys’ egaming licence from the Gibraltar Gambling Commission.
Meanwhile IGT, which acquired the social game developer for up to US$500m last year, has in recent weeks announced a number of deals to supply the Double Down Casino app to land-based casinos.
Operators such as Casino Del Sol and Golden Acorn will host the app on their proprietary websites in a revenue sharing agreement with IGT.
DoubleDown Casino, which boasts 25 freeplay games, was recently added to poker tracking site Pokerscout’s play-money league, placing Double Down Casino third of 12 operators behind Zynga Poker and PokerStars, with a seven-day average of 4,000 ring-game players at any one time.
