888 restructures team following bingo review
Some roles have been made redundant while others have been relocated to operator's Israel base

888 has made a small number of roles redundant after completing a six-month operational review of its underperforming bingo business, eGaming Review understands.
The redundancies, which are believed to have been in single figures and affected staff at the operator’s London offices, were finalised last week.
In addition, a similar number of positions have been relocated to Israel where the bingo team’s management is also based.
The process is thought to have brought an end to a strategic review which kicked-off last August following a sequence of disappointing bingo results.
In H1 2013, 888’s bingo revenues were down by 18%, although according to last month’s interim management statement this had stabilised to a full-year reduction of 16%.
In restructuring the business, which it bought from Wink Bingo in 2009, 888 is believed to have attempted to replicate the set-ups of both poker and casino.
These changes have led to a centralisation of a previously international bingo team in Israel, while it also moved 888 marketing specialist Ran Milo from casino to bingo amongst a number of other personnel switches.
888 declined to comment.
The recent performance of its bingo business has been in stark contrast to other verticals where significant growth saw the operator secure Poker Operator, Casino Operator and overall Operator of the Year awards at November’s eGR‘s Operator Awards.
The operator’s sportsbook has also gone under improvement following it’s tie-up with supplier Kambi and a recent UK advertising push.
