Digital director Ben Carter leaves operator to become head of marketing at online marketplace Notonthehighstreet.com
Betfair digital director Ben Carter has resigned after more than four years at the exchange and sportsbook operator.
Carter left Betfair last Friday to become head of marketing at online marketplace Notonthehighstreet.com, however no replacement has been lined up as of yet.
He joined Betfair as head of central online marketing services, later becoming head of digital marketing before being appointed as a digital director at the start of 2013.
“He has had four successful years at Betfair and we wish him all the best in his future career,” James Midmer, corporate communications manager at Betfair, said.
Midmer also confirmed that global brand manager Andy Lulham left the firm in September after more than five years at the London-based operator.
Lulham, who orchestrated Betfair’s ‘cash out’ TV advertising campaign, joined odds comparison service Oddschecker as head of marketing last month and has been immediately tasked with executing its upcoming marketing campaign.
“I’d been at Betfair for five-and-a-half years so the time was right for a new challenge,” Lulham told eGaming Review. “It’s a small team here so I have a very broad and exciting role within a business that has lots of potential for future growth.”
Carter’s exit comes less than a month after the firm’s chief technical officer Phil Dixon left the sportsbook to join Los Angeles-based restaurant technology firm Tillster.
Betfair is also set to lose its global ecommerce team head Tamsin Todd in the New Year after it was revealed the former Wall Street analyst will join UK ski operator Crystal Ski in January.
